The corvitac Pig-Counter is an innovative camera system that automatically registers the number of animals during counting processes required in activities such as buying and selling or relocation of pigs. An automatic pig counting that avoids errors by up to a 99.9% and counts the correct number of animals is now a reality. Our camera system automatically generates the counts on video, which can also be used to automate the documentation and ensure a comprehensive tracking of your inventory. The system is also capable of including an option for automatic reporting to the corresponding national authorities
Higher power and performance, made for bigger needs
What are the components?
On the one hand, a camera is fixed to the ceiling at a central point in the corridor where the counts are to be carried out. The camera has an IP67 protection, so it does not interfere with any cleaning processes. The second component is a high-performance processor that analyzes the images and processes the videos and counts. This is installed anywhere in the building permanently. On the other hand, the system comes with our software, including an application for both desktop and mobile devices. These comprise, in essence, the recognition and counting processes, based on artificial intelligence (AI).
Good to know:
- Animals that are delayed are counted accordingly and the system also recognizes if they walk back to the opposite direction.
- People can walk with the image and are not recognized or counted by the system, thanks to our automatic recognition based on AI. However, it is important not to cover up the animals during the process.
- Both the desktop program and the mobile application can be used to display live images, animal output and also check the results or send them out for internal or external reporting.
- The Pig-Counter S does not require an internet connection for its counting and documentation function and is therefore less susceptible to interferences. However, when managing and carrying out automated reports and more convenient processes, an Internet connection is recommended. The system also allows a service to correct problems or errors remotely and always achieve 100% reliability in the counts.
AND HOW IS THE PIG-COUNTER IN PRACTICE?
Our system is usually used in sale or relocation processes. For this purpose, a camera is permanently installed on each loading ramp, preferably in the covered area. Installation in the inner area of the outlet is recommended as this reduces the influence of external lighting, which can have a negative influence on the use of the camera systems. It is possible to connect more than one camera through a single central processor.
The different processes and the display of the live images, as well as the results, are carried out through a tablet, which is placed near the camera. The automatic documentation can be used to invoice suppliers and can be presented as video-proof. This also ensures inventory tracking and control. In case of using the system in slaughterhouses, it is also possible to perform counts before the pigs are stunned, as an additional option.
By always installing the system in a customized way according to the needs of the different facilities of your company, we achieve a correct, automatic and reliable inventory management and registration of entries and exits. The previously notified planned figures can thus be compared with the actual number of animals.
